More so, cooking rice in rice cooker is very easy and it reduces consumption of heat/fuel too. Mostly people use two types of rice cookers; Pressure rice cooker and Automatic rice cooker. The difference between these two rice cookers is ‘pressure’.

Cooking Rice in Pressure Cooker

In case of pressure rice cooker, rice is cooked in the closely packed container by adding some water to desired quantity of rice. After some time, water inside the cooker tries to evaporate. But because of tightly packed container, the water vapor can’t escapes out. A small outlet is designed on the top of the pressure rice cooker. When pressure increases inside the cooker, it lets it go from the outlet slightly. The produced vapor pressure compresses the rice and lets it boil in a short span of time.

Coming to automatic rice cooker, operation of this cooker is just similar to pressure cooker. But, it cooks rice in the absence of water vapor. It takes some more time than the pressure cooker to boil the rice. Operating these two rice cookers is very easy.

Tip: You may want to add some salt to water, for getting better taste (optional).
